Bosses at ABC News Tell the Hosts of ‘The View’ to Cool it on Heated Politics – Will it Work? | The Gateway Pundit

The people in charge of ABC and ABC News have reportedly told the hosts of the The View that they need to cool it on their heated political rhetoric. The bosses apparently realize that alienating half of the country is a bad media strategy.

It’s very easy to forget that The View is not an entertainment show. It falls under the umbrella of ABC News, which is amazing when you consider how often they get things completely wrong. They constantly have to issue on-air corrections.

If you read the story below, you’ll see that some of the hosts are being defiant about this. They don’t want to tone down a thing.

FOX News reports:

Disney boss Bob Iger, ABC exec asked ‘The View’ hosts to cool it on politics: report

Disney CEO Bob Iger and other executives have reportedly asked the co-hosts of “The View” to turn down their heated political rhetoric.

Multiple Disney sources told The Daily Beast that both Iger and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic recently suggested that the all-female daytime talk show panel be less antagonistic on political issues, though the recommendation was reportedly not taken too seriously. The co-hosts of “The View” have become known as being some of President Donald Trump’s fiercest media critics since he began his political career.

“This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?” one source told the outlet, paraphrasing how the co-hosts replied to the ABC and Disney executives…

The sources described how the show’s hosts pushed back against the suggestion, with Ana Navarro reacting the most forcefully. She told the ABC News head that audiences want the hosts to speak out on political issues.

The sources stated that Navarro and her colleagues found the request “silly” and insisted they were going to “keep doing their thing.”

There’s a very simple reason that Ana Navarro and other hosts on the show wouldn’t want to tone it down and it has nothing to do with the show’s audience. It’s because the hosts enjoy it.

You can tell that they absolutely love getting to air their hatred of Trump and all things Republican every day. They indulge themselves in it every day. It’s satisfying to them. Why would they want to stop?
