The New South Wales (NSW) Parliament has passed the Planning System Reforms Bill 2025, marking what Premier Chris Minns called a “major step forward” for housing and planning reform across the state.
The legislation overhauls the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, modernising how NSW approves homes, jobs, and infrastructure projects after decades of bureaucratic bottlenecks and delay.
