“My goal is to preserve peace,” said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, emphasizing that in the event of an open conflict between Europe and Russia, Belgrade would be guided solely by its own national interests.
Responding to a question about which side Serbia would be on in a hypothetical military confrontation, Vučić said:
“Serbia is on its side. No matter how much Washington, Brussels, Moscow, or anyone else likes it.”
At the same time, he said, the main goal is to prevent war:
“My goal is to maintain peace, develop the economy, so that citizens feel safe, free, and can spend their money safely.”
