NEW: CBS News is reporting fake news and is pushing pro-Israel propaganda, claims Former CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega.
Former CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega said she was pressured by the network’s new leadership to include misinformation and political bias in stories that aired this year, ABC News reports.
Vega alleged that CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, a self-declared “Zionist fanatic,” and other executives pushed her to report on events that “never happened” and sought to inject political bias into several segments.
In one case she was asked to describe Iran as being “outgunned by the United States and Israel,” which she called “an administration talking point.”
CBS has denied the allegations, stating they are “not based in reality.”
Vega was among several prominent 60 Minutes journalists dismissed from the program earlier this year.
