BADUNG, Indonesia – Jamie McIntyre, Chief Editor
of the Australian National Review and Founder of LUX Property Group, has released a special Australian National Review TV report showcasing Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), describing it as one of the world’s most impressive examples of modern urban planning.
During his visit, McIntyre praised Nusantara’s vision as a master-planned eco-city, highlighting its wide boulevards, expansive parklands, landscaped public spaces, striking government buildings and integration with the surrounding natural environment.
“This is the first truly master-planned city in Indonesia. It’s an eco-city with beautiful boulevards, stunning parks, wide roads, impressive buildings and hanging gardens. Surrounded by eucalyptus trees, parts of the landscape even remind me of Australia.”
McIntyre said the city offers a unique experience unlike any other he has visited.
“The roads are spacious, and it’s one of the best-planned cities I think I’ve ever seen. Walking around feels like stepping into a scene from the movie Avatar. It’s really beyond belief. You have to come and experience it for yourself.”
Although Nusantara will continue expanding over the coming years, McIntyre noted that the city is already operational, with thousands of workers living in the area, buses running throughout the precinct, many government buildings completed and occupied, and the development located approximately two hours by road from Balikpapan.
The visit also reinforced LUX Property Group’s long-term vision for tourism-led master-planned communities in Indonesia.
