Avdiivka was the gateway into Central Donetsk. Vuhledar is the gateway into Sothern Donetsk.

That two entire battallions of rhe 72nd brigade surrenfed in vuhledar speaks volumes about the actual conditions of the ukraine army. This is one of the hard core units of AFU with a long track record including the battle for hostomel airfield and battle of bakhmut. Great success for russian army.

Long time comin’–I expect Russian advances now to speed up even further. Zelensky does not seem to understand morale very well. The 72d had put up heroic resistance for more than a year, in the process inflicting many casualties in personnel and equipment on the Russians. When the Russians wised up on their flanking movements, and surrounded the 72, it was entirely honorable for the Ukrainians to surrender. Zelensky shows no class, no gratitude, no proportionality. Other Ukrainian commanders are probably taking a hard look at this situation.

Haven’t you noticed that when you know they are fighting somewhere and there are no reports that means Ukraine is getting stomped? I mean, how could you not notice when the updates come through a few days later and Ukraine has lost territory every time.

In the Internet appeared footage of an American F-16 fighter jet that tried to intercept a Russian strategic bomber Tu-95SM flying several hundred km from Alaska. No AZOV brigade to save them this time. They’re forced to walk on foot under heavy artillery and Fpv drone attacks.
No vehicles made it in Vuhledar. 72nd brigade suffered severe casualties. It’s troops never got any rotation since Feb 2024.
