The Forecasts Are Grim – Several More Electrical Substations Destroyed Military Summary 2026.01.18
By Military Summary
This video describes the military situation in Ukraine on the 18th of January 2026.
Here’s what others had to say:
@mackeyswenson9312
Russians do not care about some stupid ” 28 peace points or 20″. Peace will be achieved on Russians’ terms and eurokolchoz and americans can do nothing about it.
@walterk1874
There is no shame in doing what you have to do to survive especially when body snatchers gripped you up off the street.
@leons.9806
It’s amazing how Ukraine continues to report that they’re shooting down Russian drones. And each report is about 75% of the numbers destroyed. How are they doing this without power without electricity they have generators?!
@SeziohuruEziohuru
Point of correction, Dima, Russia is not capturing but liberating those territories. May Russia prevail.
@calanbennett6817
Ukraine needs better management, they should know Russia is tasked with destroying all power distribution in Ukraine, payback for strikes on Russian energy facilities. The MoD stated this many times on their Moscow TV1 reports. Russia noticed that Ukraine has used trains to move weapons so the next task is to demolish all rail bridges and tunnels in Ukraine. By the end of March Ukraine will not have trains to transport weapons and troops. Citizens will soon realize they need to find a new country to live in asap. Ukrainians that supported the Nazis won’t be welcomed when they take over government.

Get ready for a new Ukraine: 10 million migrants can be imported into the country
Search this article. This is IF Ukraine wins the war. They’ll need 10-15 million Indians, Nepalese and Bangladeshis! Is that what Ukrainians wanted? Because this is essentially a promise to give Ukraine away to foreigners, just as every EU nation is encouraged to do. Ukraine could have had good relations with Russia and Europe, receiving benefits from both.
All Russia wanted was NATO out. But then the money got flowing to Kiev, Ukraine became a western proxy, and now they drag any able bodied man off the streets off to the front lines. The EU is not your friend. Europe is becoming unrecognizable as a civilization, and Ukraine will not be spared. If they “win” this war, the government will be weak, in debt, and in a position only to capitulate to Europes demands. And they have many demands, covering every aspect of human activity. Just look what they’ve done to Poland and Hungary, for daring to resist their migration quotas and their radical social policies. It’s a freaking nightmare, to assimilate every country into a single, indistinguishable culture.

The price to Ukrainian-speaking Ukrainians for selling themselves out to the US is freezingin in the winter.
@alanr2609
Consequences of striking Russia’s energy infrastructure..Ukraine’s entire energy grid forcibly being shut down over winter.
@scottn1405
Dima, you tend to use language that appears to confirm Ukrainian claims of AD shoot downs of Russian incoming. That approach 80-90% success rates. I suggest you use the words “Ukraine claimed” rather than “167 of 210 drones were shot down” when it is highly unlikely that Ukraine has a hit rate of more than 40%
@77Tadeusz
Evacuations, retreats, counteroffensives, resignations, more Ukrainian political figures accused of corruption, in exile or prison. The thrilling anticipation of the next bombing. Street chases, raids, forced conscription, escapes across the border. Then another foreign trip for Zele, and so on. Perhaps Ukrainians simply enjoy it.
@jondavid5056
There is going to be a big offensive happening soon.
There are talks that that reserve force that Russia has been building is ready to go.
All the substation going up in flames means its happening very soon.
I dont think people catching this . Russia has a reserve force close 600000 that some have been resting and some haven’t yet to be in combat.
But maybe half of that is going to be unlocked to break through an area

A couple of years ago Ukraine’s monied elite, who were exempt from military conscription, could carry on with life as normal in Kiev, enjoying the nightlife in the capital’s exclusive clubs and taking their private jets to go on shopping sprees in Paris and London, completely oblivious to the war, which back then was in the far-away Donbass. But now the war is felt everywhere in Ukraine. No more wild nightlife in Kiev.
@OldGuy2-m4c
Zelinski was correct in 2022 when he said his tanks would be in Moscow… on display as war trophies. Like Trump the Peace Candidate, the warmongers have tipped their own hand.
@MauroTriques
The Russians have spared the Ukrainians throughout the war until now. They received no empathy for that consideration. Now, that consideration has ended, what difference will it make if the Ukrainians are now angry? Weren’t they already angry in 2014?
@BillSor
US carrier groups have the same vulnerabilities against hypersonic missles and drone swarms US General John Hyten (Former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) raised that alarms way back in 2017 but pentagon didn’t take note
@maughan3061
The afu mine bridges so if they need to retreat they can blow them as they withdraw. The Russians blow them primarily so they can’t be blown while they are crossing. This has the added benefit of blocking the afu’s retreat.
