US Media Sources Name Suspect in New Orleans Terrorist Attack

This is Shamsud Dean Jabbar, 42. He died, likely shot by one of the police officers he opened fire on after running over people. The FBI is investigating whether he had accomplices and where he got a pickup truck with Texas plates.
Eyewitnesses told CNN that before New Year’s Eve, steel barriers were not installed on Bourbon Street that could have prevented the driver of the pickup truck from driving into the crowd. Barriers were installed there in 2017 after a similar terrorist attack in Nice and a series of drunken accidents in the French Quarter of New Orleans itself; they can be raised and strengthened, but this was not done. In addition, the media noted that the pickup truck had a flag of ISIS.
