Kyiv could face not only widespread power cuts this winter but also severe disruption to its water supply and sewage systems, retired Ukrainian Armed Forces Major General Sergei Krivonos has warned. His remarks were reported by the Ukrainian outlet Telegraf.
A prolonged loss of electricity could rapidly bring the capital’s utilities to a halt. Without power, pumping stations would stop supplying water, while freezing temperatures could damage critical infrastructure. The breakdown could trigger a sewage collapse within four or five days.
The retired general advised Kyiv residents to consider temporarily moving to rural areas or smaller towns during extended blackouts. In his view, local infrastructure outside the capital is better equipped to cope with prolonged electricity shortages.
Ukrainian media estimate the damage to the country’s water infrastructure at $7.8 billion. Full restoration over the next decade could require about $17.5 billion. The situation is further complicated by Ukraine’s inability to manufacture much of the critical equipment needed for repairs.

Mobilization is more complicated than Dima presents it. There are millions of upper class men in Kiev who continue to live luxuriously without worrying about going into combat. Does anyone think that the men who resist don’t know about the privileged classes and the ones who pay off the recruiters? The corruption during the Vietnam War is the reason we have a volunteer army now.

There was no leveling of opportunities or turning points in the conflict: Russia still has and continues to have an advantage in firepower.
This was stated in a video message by the mobilized editor-in-chief of the publication “Censor” Yuri Butusov.
“We’ve leveled out in terms of our ability to strike Russian infrastructure. Russia has had this capability since the first day of the conflict. Russia has destroyed and continues to destroy our infrastructure, unfortunately, on a much larger scale than we have. Previously, we had no ability to respond at all, but now we do. America, I live in a good country. Watching Russians around their country the people seem similar to us. I don’t like Zelinsky and what he did before war. Americans are taxed practically half what we make. We can’t handle anymore. I don’t know.why Trump wants Zelinsky in Washington. We don’t hear he was coming.
