Australia’s farmers have labelled Labor’s no free trade deal with Europe as “pretty embarrassing”, “disappointing”, “pathetic”, “unfair”, “simply appalling” and “a horrendous outcome”.

“Our farmers,” EU President Ursula von der Leyen told a media crowd in Canberra, “will benefit from greater export opportunities, combined as usual with strong safeguards.” Yes, their farmers, not ours. Well done Albo.

“And on top of that this – worst deal ever – also seeks to bind Australia to the Paris Agreement and climate goals,” says National Party leader, Senator Matt Canavan.

“And the EU will be able to seek to ‘suspend trade preferences’ if they believe that Australia has committed ‘serious violations’ of labour or climate obligations. Labor has traded away our sovereignty away for beans.”

Cairns News this week posted a headline telling von der Leyen to go back to Europe. Our warning against this unelected Eurocrat turned out to be prescient – she had all sorts of ideological garbage attached to her and Albanese’s so-called trade deal.

Who the hell is an unelected EU bureaucrat to be binding Australia to the “Paris Agreement and climate goals”? we ask. What other arm twisting conditions did the blonde bureaucrat attach to this so-called trade deal?

The National Farmers Federation said they were sold out by the deal. “Australian farmers are extremely disappointed that negotiations for a free trade deal with the European Union have concluded without commercially meaningful agricultural market access gains since Australia last walked away from negotiations,” the NFF said.

We have to ask exactly who benefits from this so-called trade deal. If it means more carbon mitigation scams and even more green restrictions on farming and industry, it’s just more of the same Labor dismantling of the country by Albo and his goon show.

Of course the Eurocrats are climate-saving green zealots until it comes to the rare earth minerals they desperately want.

“Australia is one of the world’s most important producers of critical raw material. In contrast, Europe is one of the world’s major users, so today, we agreed on four major projects, covering production of rare earths, lithium, and tungsten,” von der Leyen announced.

“Free trade” runs in the Von der Leyen family. She was born into the powerful Albrecht family, and her father, Ernst Albrecht, was a CDU politician and Lower Saxony’s Minister-President (1976–1990).

Using his inherited aristocratic wealth, he secured high-ranking posts in the European Economic Community, embedding Ursula in Brussels’ elite from a young age. Her grandfather, Carl Albrecht, was a renowned psychologist whose fortunes stemmed from Bremen’s cotton trade and colonial-era plantations.

According to European researchers, the family, with its aristocratic links, thrived under Hitler’s Germany. There were also direct links to the Nazi Party through Joachim Freiherr von der Leyen, a German jurist and civil servant who worked as a district administrator during the Third Reich in occupied Czechoslovakia and Poland.

In 1986, she married Heiko von der Leyen, a noble from the silk dynasty that owns Bloemersheim Castle. Her wealth stems from Albrecht trade money, von der Leyen land, and a cushy EU salary of €300,000.
