Last year, the Federal Government quietly passed laws that will force age verification onto every major social media platform operating in Australia. The scheme takes effect on 10 December 2025. That is exactly one month from now.And let us be clear about what this really is: A sneaky backdoor to push millions of Australians into Digital ID.
They say it is about “keeping kids safe”. But behind the soothing language is a brutal truth: this is the first step toward forcing identity checks for everyday internet use.And once Digital ID becomes tied to online access, everything follows: your speech, your banking, your transport, your medical records, your life. Digital ID is not convenience. It is control. It turns citizens into monitored subjects, erodes anonymity, and gives government and corporate elites the power to decide who participates in society and who gets digitally erased.
It is the dream of every authoritarian regime, and it is arriving here through the back door.So how do we stop this?
These laws only passed because the Liberal National Coalition supported them. They broke faith with their base, with families, with conservatives, with liberty-minded Australians, and handed Labor a victory that never should have happened.But here is the good news: If the Coalition reverses course now, we have a real shot at nobbling this scheme cold by forcing an embarrassing defeat for the Albanese Government in the Senate.
That is why I have drafted a full repeal bill. And I am already in conversation with Senators to introduce it immediately. But Federal Parliament has only one sitting week left before this regime goes live. So every single day counts.I invite to join us in the fight ahead.
