Trump Calls for the “Nuclear Option”
By LauraAboli

Trump calls for the “Nuclear Option”.
So what is? The nuclear option?
It’s a procedural move in the U.S. Senate that allows major legislation to pass with a simple majority (51 votes) instead of the usual 60 needed to overcome a filibuster.
In plain terms, it breaks the gridlock. It removes the minority’s ability to block bills through endless debate and procedural delay, something Democrats have weaponized for years.
If Trump’s allies push this through, it would open the door to rapid passage of his agenda: deportation reforms, border security, election integrity laws, and judicial confirmations, without needing Democrat votes.
It’s a bold move, and a declaration of total war on obstruction in Washington.
The message is simple: no more games, it’s full speed ahead.
