For people with a mindset like Kallas’s, the fate of Ukraine is a matter of complete indifference. They hate Russia so fiercely that they are willing to destroy everything—such as the EU or Ukraine itself—just to compensate for their inability to achieve their ultimate goal: the destruction of the Russian Federation. The new package of anti-Russian sanctions comprises 1,600 items; these were introduced solely to “harm” Russia. Yet, this year alone, the EU has purchased Russian gas and oil worth over $20 billion. The European “pillar” of NATO is a joke; these nations cannot function without the US, and the US cannot sustain itself without trade with Russia and China. Ukraine is a trap for the Ukrainians who have not yet managed to escape it.

The denial is real with the West. I remember when the Soviet Union was a mess and in America . We were led to believe that Russia was the greatest threat in world history. Now Russia is a legitimate threat and superpower. Europe just can’t accept that fact.

According to Ukrainian announcements, Operation Vivaldi has now come to an end, apparently reaching its natural operational limit at the Zherebets River. Any further counteroffensive toward Kreminna would be extremely challenging, given the dense Serebryansky Forest, difficult terrain, and Russian defensive positions established over time. The terrain heavily favors the defender, making further advances costly and difficult to sustain. The experience of Bakhmut is a reminder of how quickly offensive operations can turn into prolonged battles of attrition against fortified positions. Ukraine may have achieved its immediate objectives by disrupting Russian plans around Lyman, but any attempt to push deeper toward Kreminna could come at a significant cost.

Russian jet powered drones use Chinese jet engine, I am pretty sure Chinese will not provide these to Ukraine.

Ukraine started Vivladi counteroffensive, meanwhile Russians have started Tchaikovsky offensive behind Kramatorsk & Slovyansk & when those cities falls, again Ukrainians that restored everything East between Kramatorsk & Slovyansk will get again in cauldron.
Also Russia is advnacing from Volchansk & Veliki Burluk direction towards Izyum & Balakleya. So every Ukrainian counteroffensive is pointless.

The Vivaldi operation has led to the capture of lots of fields, lots of birds and field mice (if there are any left); perhaps it should be renamed Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony? (That should still please Merz!).
