Norway to Provide $9.2B in New Aid to Ukraine in 2027

ISTANBUL
Norway will provide Ukraine with 85 billion krone ($9.2 billion) in new aid in 2027, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store announced Sunday during a visit to Kyiv.
“Norway will continue to support Ukraine’s defense struggle,” Store said, Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported.
“Now we are sending a clear signal that Norway will continue to stand by, both civilian and military,” he said.
Of the total package, 70 billion krone ($7.5 billion) will be allocated to military support and 15 billion krone ($1.6 billion) to civilian assistance.
The 2027 commitment will mark the third consecutive year that Norway has provided 85 billion krone in annual support to Ukraine.
Store arrived in Kyiv on Sunday alongside leaders from Nordic and Baltic countries.
“Every day, the Ukrainian people live with the consequences of Russia’s brutal war,” he said.
He said the escalation of Russian missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure meant that civilians were being “systematically targeted.”
“At the same time, Ukraine continues its fight for freedom, independence and the right to determine its own future,” Store said.
“Therefore, it is important that Norway continues to stand with the Ukrainians,” he added.
During his visit, Store is expected to attend a summit between Ukraine and Nordic-Baltic countries, to take part in events marking Ukraine’s National Flag Day and meet Ukrainian officials.
